Kuzikus wildlife reserve

Kuzikus Wildlife Reserve is a game sanctuary situated within the Kalahari wilderness in Namibia, inhabiting a diversity of free-living wildlife. The ambition is to protect and preserve a piece of unspoilt Africa, impart the fascination of this extraordinary wilderness to tourists and locals of the area. 

Having previously been a cattle and sheep farm, the area was closed to the public from 1994 - 2005 to allow regeneration of endemic wildlife. The critically endangered Black Rhinoceros and various antelopes were re-introduced into the area, while small mammals, birds and insects returned as the reserve re-generated.  Kuzikus comprises different habitats and landscapes, such as dunes, saltpans, bushveldt, grassland and Acacia-dominated savannah. The difference in these landscapes provides an excellent system for comparitive studies for BRinK research. Collected data of BRinK reserachers are

We believe that the research collected by BRinK volunteers is valuble. It is published and used for the reserve's management through wildlife surveillance and explorataion. 

Promoting science and research, BRinK research volunteers give presentations to Kuzikus visitors to share and explain their findings. Interested people often join field work for a day or two to learn about ecology while enjoying their holiday.
